Event: Fall Pedagogy Lab: (Re)Orientation, Tuesday, August 29th

Welcome back! This fall, DigLibArts, Wardman Library, and the Associate Dean for Faculty Development invite you all to join us for our Pedagogy Lab: (Re)Orientation, which will be in the DigLibArts Collaboratory on the main floor of Wardman Library, Tuesday, August 29th, 8:30am – 1:00pm, followed by a lunch in Dezember House.

This year’s DigLibArts Pedagogy Lab is designed as a learning community of teachers at Whittier College to share expertise, experience, and resources. Our emphasis this fall will be to help new and junior faculty design their courses to accommodate the unique qualities of Whittier College students and our campus community. We will be joined by seasoned faculty who will lead panels and breakout sessions designed to help us revisit and reorient our courses. We will provide tools and advice for incorporating information literacy and digital assignments in early phases of course planning and will help you draft or revise your syllabi to fit into Whittier’s teaching culture and practices. This Pedagogy Lab is unique from previous labs and has been folded into a revised New Faculty Orientation, and is only open to junior faculty.

Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided. If you will need childcare, please respond to Laura McEnaney, Associate Dean for Faculty Development as soon as you can and she will be in touch about childcare options. To RSVP to the Pedagogy Lab please respond to Angela Olivas by Thursday, August 24th.
