Associate Professor of English & Director of Digital Liberal Arts Center
Andrea Rehn’s research and pedagogy are based in a commitment to postcolonial studies. She is currently working on a project on the discourse of hospitality in late eighteenth century texts by women writers, which will be supported by a Visiting Fellowship at Chawton Library in Spring 2014. This project grew out of a 2012 NEH Summer Seminar with Devoney Looser which focused on using both emerging digital technologies and traditional archival research methods to study Jane Austen. In addition, Andrea is co-Editor of Victorian Poetry and Poetics in Context, a cross-institutional wiki hosted by Alison Chapman at University of Victoria. She has published on Conrad, Isabella Bird, and Jane Austen. Please email her at arehn at whittier.edu for more information about Whittier’s DigLibArts Initiative.
